At 1830 today we passed through the Golden Gate and are now docked in Sausalito! Here we are in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. You can’t see it (as we couldn’t either until very close to it due to all the fog). In fact, Point Reyes was our first sighting of California land the whole trip down and we were only about 10 miles off most of the way due to higher winds in the waters further out. But on the other side of the bridge? Sun! And wind! We rolled our genoa out and sailed into San Francisco.
So happy to be here!
Total miles: 749
Congratulations! Love that pic. What a beautiful crew, keep up the good work.

Wow, awesome! Congratulations! Seems like you made pretty good time and had good weather. Wishes for your whole trip to go this well. Great pic too.
Woo hoo! Congratulations! We’re sweating by the gallon down here now and to see a picture of folks on a boat wearing wool hats and warm stuff is a bit unsettling–the weather should moderate by the time you get down here. You will love it. Enjoy Sausalito. Michael
Right on! Congratulations on your first leg completed! You guys look great and you are providing us with much inspiration….we will follow soon!

How nice to see all of your sweet, smiling faces! Congratulations on your progress. You’re getting closer to your sunny destination! Enjoy the Bay area. We’ll be down there too at the end of the month for a mini-vacation.
We’ll be here for another two weeks at least before we continue on to Southern CA. If we are still here in SF when you are we’d love to meet up, maybe take you all out for a sail! I think you really did see us offshore, amazing!
Oh my gosh. Wouldn’t that be fun! We’ll be staying in Palo Alto from 9/29-10/2. Matt’s company is somehow involved in the Palo Alto Film Festival, so we’ll be taking advantage of his free hotel room. Our weekend is free, so I’ll be in touch as the date gets nearer.
PS — Today is the first day of Red Class. 🙂
Congratulations!
You CAN see the Golden Gate Bridge in that pic, albeit a tiny support… and all that sunshine just on the other side. Congrats on completely probably the most challenging part of your cruise! Say hello to LaDonna for us…
